Our Partners at Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership have launched a new website detailing the projects, events, training and volunteer opportunities which celebrate the area’s distinct landscape and cultural heritage, otherwise at risk.
Projects vary from research into designed landscapes, natural play initiatives with local schools and Nature Reserve management from Mauldslie Woods to Chatelherault- and many in between. You may have already heard about CAVLP’s involvement in Fruit Day, planting of fruit trees throughout the area’s orchards or the new Natural Play site, Clearburn, at New Lanark.
Visitors to the site can find out about each of the projects which are listed under the themes of Our People, Our Land and Our History. News items detailing project updates appear alongside project pages, giving visitors a clear understanding of what is going on.

Clydesdale Community Initiatives was initially set-up in 2002 to enable young people at risk and adults with mental health issues to develop a derelict site in Lanark, South Lanarkshire. This project was so successful, with both groups gaining exceptional skills and confidence from their involvement, that it was decided they would undertake further projects.
